  • Four departments respond to Kalona fire

    A fire still under investigation reportedly broke out in the back of the Kalona Bakery building, 209 5th Street, Kalona Saturday, June 25.  Kalona, Wellman, Riverside and Washington departments responded to the call that came in at 7:50 p.m.

    The old supply building at the north side of the Mid-Prairie High School is slowly being dismantled to be replaced by a two-story 96 by 162 foot indoor athletic facility at an estimated cost of $425,000.
