    Unofficial school board election results show Chuck Freeman, Jeremy Pickard, George Schaefer and Marianne Schlabach were chosen to serve a four-year term on the Mid-Prairie School Board. Elected to serve the remainder of a two-year term to the Board is Jodi Meader. Lorraine Williams was chosen to serve a four-year term as District #4 Director for Kirkwood Community College. The results are unofficial until they are canvassed by the Washington County Board of Supervisors Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11 a.m.

    The Mid-Prairie baseball team suffered a three-game losing skid last week after falling in both games of a double header as well as Cascade of Western Dubuque before winning over Durant.
    The boys were host to Tipton Monday, June 22, and in the first game they lost 6-7.

    The Mid-Prairie softball team played a full schedule last week where they would put marks in both the win and loss columns.
    Their first game was at Cascade where they were handed a loss. The final score was 1-2.

    The Mid-Prairie softball team has earned home field advantage in the first round of the Class 3A regional softball pairings according to information from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. M-P will play Central Lee Wednesday, July 8, starting at 7 p.m. where the winner of that game will face either Solon or Williamsburg Friday, July 11, at 7 p.m. in Solon.
    The championship game will be played Monday, July 13, at 7 p.m. in Grinnell where the winner will play in the State tournament in Fort Dodge the following week.
  • Strike out cancer night at the ballpark

    The Mid-Prairie and Washington baseball teams played their annual “Strike Out Cancer” game Tuesday, June 16.
    This is a special night designated to honor cancer survivors and patients in our community. Mid-Prairie Baseball Boosters were able to donate $325 to Washington County Relay for Life.

    The Mid-Prairie baseball team played three games last week and ended each of their games with a mark in the win column.
    The boys were host to the Washington Demons Tuesday, June 16, and ended the evening with a 10-3 win.
  • M-P girls have full week of play

    The Mid-Prairie softball team started off a busy week of play Tuesday, June 16, where traveled to Camanche and returned home with a 19-1 win.
    Scoring for the Golden Hawks came from four runs from Alex Rath and Amber Kral, Lexi Duwa had three.

    It would only take four innings for the Mid-Prairie baseball team to get the win over Sigourney Tuesday, June 9, as they would have wild end to the game for a 21-6 victory.

    The Mid-Prairie softball team was victorious over the team from Clear Creek Tuesday, June 9, as they went on to have a final score of 4-3.
